Ghanaian prodigy, Fatawu Ganiwu, is undergoing trials at English Premier League giants Chelsea to exhibit his footballing skills and for consideration to be signed by the club.
According to 3news.com, the 16-year-old prodigy is training with the U-18 and U-21 squads to allow club officials to assess his potential.
The player has already had trials with the U-18 team in their match against Sheffield United and is on course to participate in the upcoming fixtures as he seeks to impress the coaches.
The player has also had trials with French side RC Lens and German side RB Leipzig before joining Chelsea to enhance his chances.
If Ganiwu’s trials are successful, he is expected to join Chelsea’s partner club Strasbourg in France to get more playing time and develop his potential, 3news.com reports.
The brilliant performance Ganiwu demonstrated at the UEFA Youth Championship in Serbia earlier this year helped raise his profile.
As a key player for the Ghana U-16 team, Fatawu played a pivotal role in leading the Black Starlets to victory, with notable wins against Serbia, Spain, and Switzerland.
Despite his performances, negotiations between Ganiwu’s management agency, Louis Bell Fa Sport, and potential suitors have yet to finalise terms according to Londonworld.
