Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has been ruled out of action for four weeks after an injury he picked up on international duty with the Black Stars.
Mensah went off early in Ghana’s 2-0 win over Comoros in a world cup qualifier on Tuesday with what looked like a muscle tear but says examination on Friday has revealed he has suffered muscle contraction and will miss between three to four weeks of action.
The injury is a setback to Mensah’s attempt at working himself back into top form after spending four months on the sidelines because of a ban from football.
He had played 90 minutes last week and was hoping to pick up steam before the latest injury setback.
