Ghana attacker Christian Atsu has venerated Barcelona and Argentine ace Lionel Messi describing him as “the greatest” footballer.
Atsu who returned to his parent Club Chelsea after an unsuccessful loan stint with Bournemouth says he has been looking up to the Argentine international ever since he was young.
Messi is arguably one of the greatest footballers on the glob having won the FIFA player of the year on four occasions.
His enviable feat has earned him praises from the Ghanaian international who remains a big admirer of the star.
“When I was growing up in Ghana the one I was looking up to was Lionel Messi. I think he is the greatest footballer and I think that he is also very humble and has a great attitude,” he told Crosstheline.
Messi is in line for a fifth FIFA Ballon d' or title which takes place in Zurich on Monday.
