Ghana?s Olympic team, the Black Meteors, last Monday beat a Portuguese Second Division side, Fatima, 2-1 in a pre-tournament warm up game in Lisbon.
Reports say the Meteors shot ahead through Emmanuel Pappoe but the Portuguese club equalised before half time before Razak Pimpong scored the winner in the second half.
The win extended the Meteors? streak of successes in training games at their Portugal base. The Meteors have played three other trial matches against local sides winning 8-0, 2-1 and 5-1 respectively. The Meteors, meanwhile, have two other games. One comes up before the end of the week.
The team is expected to engage in a four-cornered tournament involving Benfica, European champions FC Porto and Paris St. Germain slated for August 6-8 before leaving for Portugal on August 9, three days to their crucial opener against Italy.
The Ghanaian team, which is expected to leave for Athens on August 9,play their first Group B game against Italy on August 12.
