Mfantsiman United thrash Abakrampa United

Mankessim (C/R) Oct. 28, GNA - Mfantsiman United played a yeoman's game to occupy the top position of the Zone Two League table of the Central Regional Division Two league match played at Mankessim on Thursday. United who whipped Abakrampa AAK United by 4-1 outplayed the Abakrampa boys and registered all their four goals in the first half. Mfantsiman's midfielder, Frank Asamoah set the tone for the free scoring spree when he scored two rapid goals in the 21st and 25th minutes.

The home side continued to pile pressure on the Abakrampa lads and went ahead to add two more goals through inside left Kamara Ninson and outside right, Issaka Zakari in the 33rd and 42nd minutes respectively. AAk United's centre forward, Robert Amuzu managed to get a consolation goal for the visitors in the 66th minute to bring the final scores to 4-1.

In another development, Adisadel Astronomers played a good game to spank their rivals, Sonturk Stars 3-0 in the Cape Coast District Under 17 Colts league match played at the Cape Coast Technical School sports grounds on Wednesday.

Astronomers led 2-0 at half time. On resumption of the second half, Sonturk made two changes to strengthen their defence but that did not deter Astronomers from raising their tally to three through outside right, John Mensah in the 65th minute. Results of other matches played are, Sultan drew 0-0 with Paa Badu Stars, Shantels spanked King Karmel 3-0, Schalke 'O4' also white washed Young Eagles 3-0 while AOC 95 pipped Rainbow 1-0. 28 Oct, 05
