Michael Essien won’t extend Milan stay in June

Ghana midfielder Michael Essien’s agent, Fabrizio Ferrari does not expect his client to sign a new deal with AC Milan in the summer.

The 32-year-old, who joined the Rossoneri on a one-and-a-half year contract on January 27, 2014, has been linked to clubs in the USA, including Portland Timbers, Columbus Crew and Toronto FC.

“I don’t know what will happen, but I believe he will not renew with Milan,” Fabrizio Ferrari told ItalianFootballDaily.

“Essien is happy at Milan, he could remain, but it is doubtful. It’s a bit early to predict what will happen in June,” he added.

The former Chelsea player has made 9 appearances in 17 Serie A games this season.
