The Ghana Football Association (GFA), has following the cancellation of the international friendly match between Ghana Black Stars and their Barbados counterparts rescheduled the postponed 17th week matches to be honoured today, Thursday, August 28 at all league centres.
A statement signed by Mr Kwaku Ampim-Darko, Deputy General Secretary Technical of the GFA said the decision to go ahead with the postponed matches was in consultation with the Ghana League clubs Association (GHALCA) and the Professional League Board (PLB). The statement said the decision was taken to avert the disruption of the league programme, which the club chairmen and Ghalca drew on 15th July 2003.
It said in view of the rescheduling of the 17th week fixtures being fixed for Thursday the match between Okwawu United and King Faisal has been fixed for Friday August 29 at the Accra sports stadium. The statement concluded that the league would continue as originally scheduled with the 18th week fixtures being played on Saturday and Sunday August 30th and 31st respectively at all league centres.

Officials for reinstated 17th week matches
Accra Aug 26, GNA - Referee M Mohammed from Kumasi has been appointed by the Appointments Committee of the Kinapharma Premier League to handle the reinstated 17th week match between Tano Boafoakwa and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Thursday August 28.Akwasi Appiah and B Takyiakwah from Kumasi and Mampong respectively will assist him on the lines whiles Paul Ayamba also from Kumasi commissions the match.
At the Kumasi Sports Stadium, Referee John Atikese from Koforidua will be in the center for the Kotoko and Liberty encounter with his assistants being Koforidua based Daniel Aheli and M D Arthur from Cape Coast.
The match between Berekum Arsenals and Sekondi Hasaacas scheduled for Berekum would be handled by Vivian Aggor with his assistants being Annan Lomotey and J K Montford all from Accra.
Takoradi based F K Bassaw would be in the centre of the match between Heart of Lions and RTU and would be assisted on the lines by E Addo-Gyan from Nsawam and Cosmos Oteng from Asankragua.
At Prestea, Daniel Offei would be at the centre of the Mine Stars and Goldfield match with his assistants being Prince Worgba and Victor Dwamena all from Tema.
The match between Accra Great Olympics and B A United will have Alhassan Brobbey from Manpong in the centre with S C Baidoo and William Boateng from Kumasi and Mampong respectively as the assistant referees.
Stay Cool and Power's local derby would be officiated by G K Zorve from Kumasi with E K Boateng and Osei Agyman all from Kumasi on the lines.
Accra other match between Okwawu United and King Faisal would have Gyan Otoo from Takoradi in the centre with the lines being manned by Sunyani based K S Asante and Yusif Jibril from Hohoe. 26, Aug 03
