FIRST division Tudu Mighty Jets Football Club have announced their withdrawal from all protest cases pending at the Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
In a statement dated March 20, 2003 to the GFA and copied to the press, Mighty Jets said they took the decision to enable the sub-middle league in Zone 3 commence “with or without Tudu Mighty Jets FC”.
The statement, signed by the General Manager of the club, James Oyedeji, also said the decision to withdraw took into account the national interest.
Aside of that, Mighty Jets also acknowledged that they could not fight two battles at the same time: “You will agree with me that it is illogical to operate along two frontlines (ie. GFA Appeals Committee and the Appeals Court) simultaneously”, the statement explained.
It will be recalled that Mighty Jets appealed against a decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA that expunged points from the Tudu club after being found guilty of using an unqualified player in their matches of the Zone 3 middle league which dropped them from the top of the table to bottom.
