MIDFIELDER John Mikel Obi is a big doubt for Tuesday's international friendly against Ghana after he limped off a Chelsea 3-1 win over Rangers of Scotland at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly.

Mikel, who is just securing his midfield slot under new boss Andre Villa-Boas could not complete the first half of the game as he was taken off two minutes before the interval to be replaced by youngster Josh McEachran.

The situation frustrated Nigeria's coach, Samson Siasia's attempt to field a strong side against Black Stars of Ghana as another stalwart, Osaze Odemwingie, is currently battling fitness ahead of the game.

On the other hand, the Black Stars have no major injury worries ahead of the tie.
