Accra, April 30, GNA - Black Stars trainer Milovan Rajevac will make public his provisional 30-man squad for the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday, May 11.
The release of the list is in accordance with FIFA regulations, which mandates participating teams to name their provisional squads exactly one month ahead of kick-off.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) who announced this on Friday during a joint press conference organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with the GFA on Friday, said the Stars trainer will outdoor his 30-man squad on the said date. He said the unveiling of the provisional squad will precede the team's training tour of France in preparation for the World Cup.
Nyantakyi said the final 23-man squad of the Stars will be named on June 1, exactly 10-days before the opening match of the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars are expected to depart for Paris, France on May 24 to commence preparations for their second participation at the World's biggest football event.
The Stars will engage a local French side on May 27, play the Netherlands four days later in Rotterdam before wrapping against their counterparts from Latvia on June 5 in Milton Keynes, England.
The Stars depart for South Africa on June 6 and will begin their campaign against Serbia on June 13 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, engage Australia six days later at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg before wrapping up against Germany on June 23 at the Soccer City in Johannesburg.
