Mixed fortunes for Impilo Ghana FC

By George Osei

Impilo Ghana FC recorded two interesting results on Thursday as they continued with their preparations for the upcoming Eastern regional 2nd division league which is expected to start soon.

They won one and lost the other in the two games they played on the day with the boys displaying a high level of football as compared to their most recent encounters.

In the first game of the day, they lost by the odd goal in five as Madina United run away with a narrow 3 ? 2 victory at the Madina Nsamanpom Park in a fiercely contested affair. Later, they defeated Ebusua United 5 ? 2 to cap a good outing for the fast improving side.

The out put of the Impilo Ghana team was on the high despite the defeat to United as they came up against opponents who are well into their league season in the Greater Accra third tier league and were very sharp on the day. Madina United took a first half lead in the game when their top striker Clement Adu Sam rose high to head home the opener after a good cross from the right that caught the Impilo Ghana defence ball watching.

The home side grew in confidence in the second session and scored two quick goals to briefly disorganize the play of the Impilo Ghana team.

Adu Sam scored again within the first five minutes of the restart with Madina United?s newly found striker rightly nick-named Aguero rising high to nod home the third goal for his side moments later.

The goal prompted the Impilo Ghana team into action and they took the game to the home side who after their third goal, seemed over confident in their play.

Impilo Ghana scored twice in the last quarter of the game through striker Manaf Rahim who was a delight to watch on the day.

They pressed for the equalizer, but the Madina United team stood still and hanged on for the 3 ? 2 victory which will aid them as they go into their league game this weekend.

In the second game of the game at the same venue, the Impilo Ghana team bounced back strongly to beat another local side Ebusua FC 5 ? 2 to restore some confidence to the side after losing three games in a roll.

They will continue with their preparations for the Eastern region division two league with two more friendly games next week in Accra as the team look to set themselves up for a challenging campaign.
