Ghana midfielder Mohammed Abu has expressed excitement with his move to Norwegian club Valeranga in the ongoing transfer window.

Abu joins the club on loan from Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew after struggling to churn out game time this season, making just four appearances off the bench.

The 26-year-old defensive enforcer is delighted to have joined the side and is already hoping to hit the ground running in the Norwegian top flight league.

"It's a pleasure to be here and I'm very happy to be part of this project so I can't wait to start," Abu said.

The former Manchester City youth player was asked if he is fit enough to make his debut for the side having had less game time in America.

He said, "I'm the type of player who whether I'm playing or not, I try to stay fit and keep focus because in this game you never know where you will end up tomorrow so I'm ready."

In 2017, he started 14 games after being acquired from Stromsgodset IF in Norway.
