Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus featured prominently in West Ham United's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the London Stadium.
Kudus, who started the match and played the full 90 minutes, was unable to prevent his team from falling to the reigning champions.
Manchester City took an early lead through Erling Haaland's clinical finish in the 10th minute, following a clever pass from Bernardo Silva. However, West Ham quickly responded in the 19th minute when Jarrod Bowen's cross forced an own goal from City's Ruben Dias, leveling the score at 1-1.
City regained the lead in the 30th minute as Haaland struck again, this time with a powerful shot from close range after a pass from Rico Lewis.
Despite West Ham's efforts to equalize, Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute, securing a 3-1 victory for Manchester City.
West Ham will look to bounce back in their next league match against Fulham on September 14th.
