Ex Hearts of Oak great, Mohammed Ahmed Polo has bemoaned the club's decision to appoint an assistant coach before settling on a head coach.
Polo says the move by the club to appoint Yaw Preko as the assistant coach ahead of securing the services of his boss is wrong, because it will affect cohesion in the technical department.
Hearts of Oak earlier this week announced the appointment of Yaw Preko on a two-year deal, but the move has received lots of flak form a section of their supporters.
“It’s not proper and it’s not helping the team in what they are looking for. In the normal circumstances, a coach must be appointed first for him to appoint his assistant to help him,” he said.
“But, if you force the assistant on him, it does not help. It has been the trend for some time now. It contributes to their dip in performance.”
Hearts of Oak, made this same decision last season prior to the appointment of Herbert Addo.
