Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has been named in the UEFA Champions League team of matchday two after a remarkable performance for AS Monaco.
Salisu inspired AS Monaco to come back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Dinamo Zagreb on October 2, 2024.
Salisu reduced the deficit after connecting with Maghnes Akliouche's corner in the 74th minute. The French Ligue 1 side tied the game in stoppage time after skipper Denis Zakaria scored from the spot to salvage a point for Monaco.
Mohammed Salisu's goal was his first in the UEFA Champions League after two games and also his first competitive goal for Monaco since joining the club in 2023.
Other notable names in the team of the week include Barcelona's Raphinha, Borussia Dortmund's Adeyemi, Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
The Champions League will go on break for two weeks and will resume for matchday three between October 22 and 23.
