Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu opened his goal-scoring account for AS Monaco in a pre-season friendly against Feyenoord.

AS Monaco defeated the Dutch club 3-1 in the match played on Wednesday evening, July 31, 2024, at De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam.

The French club took the lead through George Ilenikhena’s goal in the 29th minute, but Feyenoord restored parity through Luka Ivanusec in the 44th minute.

Chilean defender Guillermo Maripan put Monaco back in the lead just 14 minutes into the second half.

Salisu put the cherry on the icing when he scored the final goal in the match for his club in the 67th minute, assisted by Maripan.

This marks a significant milestone for the Ghanaian defender, who joined AS Monaco from Southampton last summer.

Salisu played 89 minutes of action before he was substituted by Samuel Kondi Nibombé in the match.
