Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu played a key role in Monaco's 2-0 victory against Lyon in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Salisu started and played the full game at the Groupama Stadium, demonstrating impressive form throughout the match.

The defender showcased an 89 percent pass accuracy, created one chance, and had 68 touches. Defensively, he made four clearances, two recoveries, and one headed clearance, and won 100 percent of his aerial and ground duels.

Monaco secured the win with goals from Eliesse Ben Seghir in the 65th minute and Lamine Camara in the 80th minute, although Camara was later sent off in the 90+7 minute for a bad foul. Monaco dominated the game with more possession and shots.

Salisu's compatriot, winger Ernest Nuamah, started for Lyon but was substituted early due to an injury in the 17th minute, replaced by Georgian attacker Georges Mikautadze.

Monaco will face Lens in their next league game on September 1st.
