Mortagbe’s future at Hearts under threat

Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe will be fired as Managing Director of Hearts of Oak on Monday, Metro FM’s website has reported.

The FIFA Marketing consultant will be told he is no longer needed at the club after an expected board meeting to be held on Monday.

The decision to sack Mortagbe is informed by findings made by the three-member committee to look into allegations of misconduct brought against the interdicted managing director.

The committee has recommended the immediate dismissal of Mortagbe in a report to be handed to Hearts’ board chairman Togbe Afede XIV by Friday.

“The findings against Neil [Armstrong Mortagbe] by the committee is very damning and there is no way he can stay at post,” a source told Metrofmonline.com.

“He [Mortagbe] was found very wanting as his comments were found inconsistent with the available facts during his testimony to the committee.

“The committee has recommended his immediate dismissal which will be communicated to him maybe on Monday.”

Chairman of the three-member committee Commodore Mensah is waiting on the remaining two members – Apiigi Afenu and Justice Ivy Heward Mills – to append their signatures before presenting the report.

The findings will be distributed to board members for further studies over the weekend before Monday’s board meeting is called.

Mortagbe is being let go just under a year of his appointment as managing director of the club.

Board members have already started looking for replacements for Mortagbe who is certain to be shown the exit on Monday.
