Neil Armstrong Mortagbe, Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, insists he is preoccupied with restoring the club to its former glory, after five seasons without a league title.
Mortagbe told GNA Sports, his appointment come with a great responsibility taking into consideration the current status of the club adding “there is no time for partying over my appointment.”
He added: “We have not won the league for the past five seasons and that does not speak well of us as one of the biggest clubs in the country.
“I want to channel my energies into the formation of a formidable squad that is capable of winning us the next league title.”
He said he would team up with the technical team to figure out how the current playing body could be strengthened for the beckoning season.
“We have a great history, with a great responsibility and it calls for hard work, commitment and dedication from all departments to ensure success,” he said.
Mortagbe said though forming a management team was not part of his immediate plans, his administration would fall on the expertise of Phobians nationwide to perform specific functions when the need arises.
The appointment of Mortagbe completes the ongoing restructuring in the club after the floatation of shares.
