Moses Armah hails Medeama players despite Confederation Cup exit

Moses Armah hailed 'exceptional' Medeama players despite their exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Yellow and Mauves lost 1-0 at MO Bejaia on Tuesday to miss out on a qualification to the semi-final.

The defeat put the two teams at par but the Algerian advanced on a superior head-to-head rule.

The two teams shared the spoils in a pulsating 0-0 draw in the port City of Sekondi in June this year - a result which came to play in the final analysis.

But Medeama chief Moses Armah has hailed his players for their exceptional attitude despite the painful defeat.

"It's not a failure, it is a disappointment. We have been unlucky but we shall look into the future with high hopes," he said

"It was always going to be difficult against the Algerian at their own backyard.

"But the boys put up a spirited performance. Unfortunately the barren draw in Sekondi did not help matters.

"I am disappointed but not downhearted. This is an exceptional squad who deserve to be encouraged.

"We tried our best but obviously was not enough. We have put it behind us and we shall move on from here.

Medeama will now turn their attention to the domestic top-flight where they play as guest of Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

The two-time Ghanaian FA Cup holders have a mathematical chance of winning the top-flight crown for the first time in the club's history.
