Mukarama Abdulai has revealed that she scared to inform her mother when she was called to join the Maidens.
The Black Maidens skipper led the country to the quarterfinals of the just ended FIFA U-17 World Cup in Uruguay and emerged as the top scorer of the tournament with seven goals.
However, the 18-year-old in an interview with Accra based Atinka TV expressed gratitude to her brother (a footballer) who motivated her and convinced their mother to allow her to play football.
“I was scared to tell my mother about the Black Maidens call-up but my brother, together with my coach had to talk to my mother that I have to go and try, whatever be the case.
“She should be patient and let me go and try and see what will happen so she has to agree,” she added.
