Muntari: We’ve to return to the real Milan

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari is rallying his team-mates at Milan to go an extra mile in the coming season to restore their pride in the Serie A.

Muntari acknowledged that the Rossoneri had a bad season last time, but is optimistic and confident all will go well for them this term.

After finishing in eighth place on the domestic log through two coaches and failing to qualify for any European competitions, the midfielder feels that must not repeat itself again.

“This year we want to do better, that’s for sure,” Muntari told reporters in New York. “Last year did not go well, we know that.”

He added: “We have to return to the real Milan that everyone knows.”

The former Portsmouth player spoke briefly about his World Cup experience where he was expelled from the team camp over insubordination, and Milan’s training day with the New York Cosmos.

“Here at Milan it is different to Ghana. Here you can have whatever you want and you’re loved by your teammates. But I can’t change the country I come from. It was great to train with the Cosmos, We’re happy to be their guests,” Muntari noted.
