Muntari pleads for time for Balotelli

... to make up his mind over Ghana international switch

Ghana international Sulley Muntari is certain that, given time, Inter team-mate Mario Balotelli will make up his mind to honour Ghana’s invitations to switch national allegiance.

“He [Balotelli] spoke to me about playing for Ghana and also to Stephen Appiah, wanting to know how it’s going to be when he gets here,” Muntari said to Joy FM.

“But I told him Ghanaians are good and we are there to make him feel at home. Mario is a kid and he changes his mind at any time so let’s give him time to see, maybe he will return to play for Ghana.”

The 19-year-old, who is being heavily linked with a £29 million move to Manchester City this summer, has been on Ghana’s radar since 2007 but has stated his allegiance is towards Italy, where he was born and bred.

He was born to Ghanaian immigrants in Palermo and has featured at under-21 level for the Azzurri.
