According to report from Italy, English Premiership league side, Portsmouth, is set to sign Udinese star Sulley Muntari in the next few days. The Ghana midfielder is rated at ?8 million, but has been unsettled in Italy for several months. Pompey were interested in signing him in the summer.
According to the tuttomercatoweb.com site, Muntari has had his bags packed for some time, but now his flight - destination Portsmouth - is unlikely to be delayed further.
A deal is expected to be done somtime between the end of this week and the begining of next, the report concludes.
However, this was one of the long-running transfer sagas of the summer, which never came to fruition, so most fans woun't be cracking open the champagne just yet.
