Muntari tops Portsmouth shopping list

Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has made Udinese midfielder Sulley Muntari his top target for the January market.

The Portsmouth News says the ?8m-rated Ghana midfielder is the man Harry Redknapp wants to inject pace and dynamism into his side to continue their European push.

Redknapp would ideally like to take the 22-year-old on loan with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Pompey were keen on the Udinese man in the summer, but Redknapp is now desperate to get the player in, with Manuel Fernandes returning to Benfica.

Muntari has had a number of fall-outs with his Italian club this season and they have now indicated they are ready to do business.

Middlesbrough are also keen on the player.

Redknapp said: "I like Muntari a lot. He's just the sort of player we're interested in. If I could take him on loan I would get him over tomorrow."
