Former captain of the Ghana Black Stars Stephen 'Tornado' Appiah has said that he feels Sulley Muntari was betrayed by his colleagues at the 2014 FIFA World Cup because whatever action he took was for the entire team.

Speaking to Nana Aba Anamoah on TV3's New Day, Appiah said, "Excuse my language, there are some people who don't take anything nonsense and I think Sulley is one of such persons."

"I think Sulley Muntari is one of the quite persons I have personally come across. He hardly speaks in camp and I think whatever happened might have been engineered by something that we all don't know. People are calling him to apologize for the wrong he did, but it seems we are not interested in what motivated him to do what he did," Appiah noted.

"What he did was for the entire team, so I was expecting the team also to stand behind him, but I think he was betrayed by his colleagues," Appiah added.

Stephen Appiah was on the TV3 Morning Show to gunner support ahead of his Testimonial match which comes off on Saturday, June 27 at the Accra Sports Stadium at exactly 4:00 pm local time.

According to Stephen Appiah, some of the players expected to take part in the match are; Pavel Nedvec, Edgar Davids, J.J Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, George Oppong Weah, Samuel Eto, amongst others.
