Local Black Stars defender Baba Mensah has revealed that his past experience always urges him on to move forward.

The 21-year-old centre back was widely critized in the media after his poor showing for Ghana in the Under 20 World Cup in Turkey two years ago abut took it in good fate and has risen to the top.

Baba who features for Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies was named as the best defender of the Ghana Premier League last Friday during the PLB 2015/2015 GPL season awards night.

“My past always motivates me to move forward, that is my secret and I also believe in God so much.” Baba Mensah told Footballmadeinghana.com

“The feeling in winning the award is so great. I thank my team mates, my club and the fans for their support.”

“I was very confident and determined at the beginning of the season so I worked very hard to get this far.”

The gangling defender who has recently being linked with a move to league champions Ashgold and Kumasi Asante Kotoko further revealed that he is not resting on his success and will push for more.

“My target is to be the best in the World and help rise the flag of Ghana high.”

Baba who netted four goals in the just ended Ghana Premier League is the only Ghanaian player in recent years to feature for all of Ghana’s three junior national teams.
