Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has revealed that his late grandmother greatly admired legendary sports journalist Kwabena Yeboah while she was alive.
According to him, his late grandmother used to watch Kwabena Yeboah when he was presenting sports shows on TV and was impressed with his journalism work.
He disclosed that when they were watching television, his grandmother would complement Yeboah, saying, "Who is this handsome guy?"
Otto Addo’s statement which was made while he was answering a question asked by the ace journalist at a press conference on October 4, 2024, had everyone in the room laughing.
“Maybe a little sad story, my grandmother, who passed away a long time ago, was admiring you [Kwabena Yeboah]. So you have always been with us. She was always like, ‘Who is this handsome guy,’” Addo said during the press conference held at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) premises.
He said this after Kwabena Yeboah asked if he was not worried about the experienced Kwasi Appiah as the Black Stars prepare to face Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024.
In response, Otto Addo stated that he is aware of Kwasi Appiah’s coaching prowess and experience; however, he is more focused on preparing his team in the best possible way to secure victory.
The Black Stars will play Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, 2024.
