Hearts of Oak new boy Abednego Tetteh claims his passion and love for the Phobians stopped him from playing for sworn rivals Asante Kotoko SC.

Tetteh reveals that he declined several offers from Asante Kotoko before earning himself a deal at Hearts of Oak.

The former Bechem United attacker says he can't don Asante Kotoko shirt to play against his beloved club Hearts of Oak but can do so with any other club.

"I can wear any club’s jersey to play against Hearts but not that of Kotoko. It’s the reason I didn’t consent to the move to Kotoko," he said.

"I moved to Ethiopia from Al Hilal to play for Jimma Aba Jiffa but upon my arrival, I was not happy with the terms given me. What I was told before was different from what I went to see."

"While I was preparing to move away from the club, I had calls from Kotoko that they need me badly. But my family is a Hearts of Oak family and I can’t play for Kotoko,"

Tetteh has signed a two-year deal with the Rainbow outfit and is expected to add firepower to their attack when the league resumes.

The Ghana Premier League is currently suspended due to the growing widespread of the global pandemic coronavirus.
