New head coach of Wa All Stars, Goran Barjaktarevic says he has been tasked to build a team with the potential of competing in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
Speaking at a short ceremony to outdoor him to the public, the German emphasized that though he hopes to win every game in the upcoming Ghana League, his utmost objective is to build a team to compete at the international level.
According to the coach although the plan looks feasible on paper he cannot state the time frame by which the club can attain the said mark.
However, he hopes the players will be able to adapt to his style and vision for the club. He asserted that creativity on the part of his players will lead to the success of the club and the personal growth of players.
“I will like to win all the games but I work for these people and I will do what they expect of me. It means we will try to develop this club to bring it to a very nice respectable international level and how long will it take? I cannot promise you,” Barjaktarevic told the press.
He added, “My philosophy is not just to have ball possession but to be able to switch fast from defence to offence and back. I respect the creativity of each player, physiologically I work on the players like their mental transfers, that is I use what they do well and I try to change them a little bit to be better to improve what they have on the pitch and I try to adapt myself to the players.”
