Maxwell Konadu says he will return to the position of the Black Stars coach in the near future adding that he has enjoyed his role as the caretaker coach of the Stars.
Konadu was elevated to act as the coach of the Black Stars when Kwesi Appiah was sacked just a few months after the Black Stars abysmal performance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
So far so good for the Ghanaian coach, as he is on course to qualifying the Black Stars to the 2015 AFCON.
“I was made aware of the fact that I was just acting as the head coach until a substantive coach is named, so I had it at the back of my mind all this while”, Maxwell intimated.
“But I am very happy with my progress so far and I believe that come tomorrow, we will beat Togo and qualify to the Nations Cup.”
The Ghana Football Association has named former Chelsea coach Avram Grant as the next Black Stars coach meaning that Konadu will supervise his last match for the team against the Hawks of Togo today.
“I am one individual who has never and will still never struggle or fight for a position. If it’s destined to be yours you will eventually get it, so I believe that my time as the Black Stars coach will come one day.”
“But until that time I will do my best to support whoever is put there as the coach because when the glory comes, it goes to the entire nation”.
