Dutch-born Ghanaian international Myron Boadu has marked his official debut for Netherlands senior national team after making headway with his AZ Alkmaar side since the start of the 2019/2020 season.
The young attacker was introduced by manager Ronald Koeman to replace Luuk de Jong on the 63rd minute in their Euro 2020 Qualifier against Estonia on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
The 18-year old took full advantage of the opportunity and managed to get on the scoresheet as he opened his goal-scoring account for the senior national team.
Boadu netted his goal on the 87th minute with experience midfielder Kevin Strootman providing the assist.
Before his strike though, Nathan Ake’s goal on top of Georginio Wijnaldum’s hat-trick had given the Dutch a 4-0 lead.
The match eventually ended 5-0 with Netherlands maintaining their second spot in Group C of the qualifiers to the 2020 European championship.
Having marked his debut with a goal, Myron Boadu will be hoping he keeps his spot in the national team when they regroup for subsequent international assignments.
