Aduana Stars shrugged off their weekend defeat to Kotoko to beat regional rivals Eleven Wonders by 2-1 at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Goals from Yahaya Mohammed and Abdul Rahman Fatawu helped the Ogya Boys to secure the needed victory with Eleven Wonders getting a consolation from Alex Asamoah.

Aduana Stars made one change to the team that lost to Asante Kotoko over the weekend with Paul Aidoo coming on for the suspended Noah Martey.

Eleven Wonders, on the other hand, opted for veteran attacker Abdul Wahab instead of Alex Asamoah.

The home side started the game very well looking to dominate proceedings.

The combination of Yahaya Mohammed and Abdul Fatawu began causing a lot of problems to the visitors.

Yahaya Mohammed finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minutes for the home side after pouncing on a throw-in from Hafiz Adams and flicking it to the back of the net 1-0.

The home side nearly made it two after Ikama set up Yahaya Mohammed in the penalty box, but his shot went wide.

The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Aduana Stars.

Aduana Stars started the second half very well and were looking to add to their lead.

Their effort was finally paid off in the 53rd minutes when Fatawu Abdul Rahman out-jumped his marker to head home to make it 2-0.

Substitute Alex Asamoah reduced the deficit for the visitors on the 73rd minute to leave the score at 2-1.

Both sides failed to make use of their late chances as Aduana Stars held on to their win.
