NLA donates to GAA towards All African Games

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) on Wednesday presented a cheque for
GHc 12,200 to the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) in Accra.

The donation is to support the GAA in its participation in the All African Games schedule for September 5- September 19, in Congo Brazzaville.

Lt Colonel Yaw Dzotefe Mensah (Rtd), NLA General Manager, Security and Special Projects said, the donation is part of the Authority’s corporate social responsibilities to the nation.

He said athletes in Ghana needs the support of Ghanaians.

Lt Col Mensah expressed the believe that the donation would aid the GAA preparation towards the games and inspire them to put confidence in the Ghanaian athletes.

Mr Samuel Ayer, Organising Secretary of the GAA said the donation was a surprise to the association and expects that many more organization would emulate the example of the NLA.

He said the GAA is presenting 18 athletes at the games and expressed the hope that the athletes would perform to the satisfaction of the authorities and win medals for the nation.

He said the GAA on Friday August 21, organise competitions dubbed: “NLA Competition,” during which some athletes would be selected to participate in the games.
