NPP-USA Slams President John Mahama

....on his opposition to Free SHS Education Now.

On the issue of giving the disadvantaged Ghanaian youth access to free Senior High School education, President Mahama is unfortunately behaving like a selfish person who first enters through a door and shuts it behind him so others will not go through it.

Unlike millions of Ghanaian children, John Dramani Mahama is from a privileged background. His late father was one of the corrupt ministers of the late President Kwame Nkrumah’s administration. The late Mahama was an affluent man who could have paid to educate his children like the many less financially endowed Ghanaians of President Nkrumah’s era, yet Mr. Mahama sought to take advantage of Nkrumah’s free education for the North to educate the numerous children he fathered, including President John Dramani Mahama.

On page 113-114 of his book, My First coup de tat, president Mahama stated as follows; “As soon as Dad organized the house and got the farm up and running, he moved all of us kids from Accra to Tamale to live with him. For Dad, one of the benefits of living in Tamale was that Northerners attended school free of charge. Ghana was still making tremendous efforts to provide greater access to education in the north, so it has put in place a programme called the Northern Scholarship Scheme that enabled kids from the north to attend school, from primary straight through to the end of their education, with the government providing for tuition, room and board, full uniform (including sandals), and books. All of my siblings were transferred to boarding schools”.

One would expect that a President Mahama who benefited from free education and strangely claims to be a youth at age 54 and therefore clamors for the support of the youth would unconditionally support the very educational policy that would develop and empower the YOUTH.

Now, the million dollar question is why does President Mahama want to deny less privileged Ghanaian children access to free education that he and his many siblings enjoyed that has enabled him to become President of the Nation, even if by accident or design? And his brother Ibrahim who also benefited from the same program and is now flying around the world in his own private jet.

By his opposition to the Free Senior High School Education, President Mahama is demonstrating two of his character traits that Ghanaians voters must take note of, come December 7, elections. The traits are wickedness and hypocrisy.

President Mahama is wicked, in that, he wants to create a perpetual under class of Ghanaian youth, which he detests and describes in very uncomplimentary terms in his book, a class which Ezra’s father – a farmer belongs to. Mahama believes people from Ezra’s father’s class should not be sending their children to Achimota School. By perpetuating this under class, corrupt politicians like John Dramani Mahama and his father before him can afford to send their children to Senior High Schools exclusively, while the rest of the society get stuck in abject poverty. John Mahama is the selfish elite who goes through the door of opportunity of free education and has the audacity to slam the door behind him, denying same opportunities to the majority poor youth of Ghana

President Mahama is a hypocrite of the highest order by his opposition to Free Senior High School Education. Here is a man who fleeced Ghana of millions of dollars through his ponzi scheme in search of medical science education for children from under privileged background in Cuba. Need John Dramani Mahama be reminded that Communist Cuba was able to achieve its educational feat, which he thinks it is worthy of emulation through “Free Education?”

Why then are Mahama and his NDC vehemently opposing the Free SHS Education? The factual explanation is that President Mahama and his corrupt cohorts do not get it since they lack the requisite leadership competencies to envision and implement bold policies that are simply the reserve of courageous and visionary leaders like Nana Addo and the NPP.

The NPP has an unequalled track record of visionary programs deemed untenable/unachievable by the cluesless NDC. The NPP ‘s visionary programs include: the Metro Mass Transit, the National Health Insurance Scheme, Free Maternal Care for expectant and nursing mothers, Capitation Grant and the School Feeding Programme and the gargantuan oil discovery .

President Mahama’s abysmal record in the past three and half years attests to his leadership incompetence. President John Mahama has been an active and willing participant in some of the most scandalous contracts and loan agreements in the countr. His and NDC’s prime focus is looting wealth rather than envisioning and implementing visionary policies for the betterment of mother Ghana.

It is very interesting that the NDC and its scheming Mahama always take Ghanaians for fools. They can use all their incoherent semantic in their frantic efforts to throw dust in our eyes about their uncompromising stand on the Free SHS Education all they want. The NPP-USA and the majority of the good people of Ghana will prove to John Dramani Mahama and his incompetent, corrupt, and lying NDC that they are on the wrong side of history on the Free SHS Education policy. President John Dramani Mahama’s position on Free SHS Education is simply unconscionable. We want FREE SHS EDUCATION NOW.
