A former Deputy Sports Minister OB Amoah is disappointed in the ruling NDC government for failing to host last year’s All Africa Games (AAG) which was held in Brazzaville.
According to the Member of Parliament for Aburi/Nsawam, the previous NPP government was on the verge of securing the 2015 hosting rights.
“I am very disappointed because it was a major thing for us. From honorable Baah Wiredu’s time before some of us came to the ministry.
"I remember very well we went to compete with Zambia on who should host the games. Some countries which are not so well endowed even have managed to host these games”, he told Starr Sports.
The competition since its inception in 1965 has seen nine African cities hosting the multi-sports event in the last 11 editions, with Brazzaville and Algiers being the only cities to have hosted the event twice.
