Ghana defender Nana Kwesi Asare could not help his Gent team avoid a 3-2 defeat at home to Wolfsburg in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The 28-year-old despite his decent performance tasted defeat with his side at the GHELAMCO-arena in Belgium.
Asare who played full throttle for the Belgium Champions was impressive at the left-back role with his offensive runs of the flanks.
Julian Draxler’s brace and a goal from Max Kruse saw the home team trailing 3-0 after 60 minutes before the host fought back to get two consolation goals after Svan Kums and Kalifa Coulibaly scored late in the game.
Gent now faces a huge task of traveling away to defeat Wolfsburg convincingly in German before advancing to the quarter finals of the competition.
