The Ghana Paralympic Committee (GPC), will in December organise the first ever National Paralympic Sports Festival (NPSF), as part of efforts to promote para-sports in Ghana.
The festival which is in collaboration with Agitos Foundation, International Paralympic Committee (IPC), National Sports Authority (NSA), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A statement signed by Ignatius Elletey, General Secretary of the GPC, said the festival will be the first of its kind in Ghana and it is aimed at providing sports men and women with the opportunity to exhibit their talents.
The GPC will use the occasion to identify talents for the various national teams in preparations for the 2016 Paralympic Games.
Each region is expected to present teams in athletics, goal-ball, table tennis, basketball, amputee football and tennis.
The festival, will also form part of activities planned for the World Disability Day, in December.
