Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong says the club's new recruits will improve their stock for the upcoming campaign.

The versatile defender forsees the new signings intensifying competition for places in the team, ahead of the new season.

Kotoko have brought in nine players so far, including Ernest Sowah, Theophilus Nyame, Bennet Ofori, Tuffour Frimpong, Evans Quao and Michael Yeboah.

Others are Halipha Sedogo, Aliassou Sanou and Samuel Kyere.

"I think it's going to bring competition among us and it wilI bring the best out of every player. The league and the FA Cup is our biggest priority. Africa is also on our minds as well, Frimpong is quoted by Footy Ghana.

"We couldn't win any trophy last season; and due to this, we're very much determined to restore our confidence towards winning laurels next season.

We can't afford to disappoint our fans next season and they must also continue to back us in everything.
