Former Ghana attacker Augustine Arhinful has advised the Ghana Football Association not to just go in for a top notch coach but also an articulate orator.
The GFA is looking for new coaches for the various national teams after taking a bold decision to dissolve the already existing technical setups. This move is engineered towards properly shaping the technical direction of Ghana football to better future results.
Headlining this hunt for new coaches is the Black Stars head coach position which has triggered much talk in the public domain. It is in this vein that Augustine Arhinful has also waded into the conversation about who best fits the role.
According to him, the next Black Stars coach should possess certain qualities that make him exemplary. “The next Black Stars Coach should be one that is tough and uncompromising. He should be brave” he said.
“Aside being a good tactician, the next Black Stars coach should also be a good communicator…I was following the Ghana-South Africa post match interview of Kwesi Appiah and he said something about he doesn’t believe in formation or so, although he didn’t really mean to say that, the media made news out of it because he didn’t communicate it well”.
“I therefore believe the next Black Stars coach should be one that communicates well, he should be articulate” Arhinful concluded.
Augustine Arhinful was speaking in an interview with Accra based Asempa FM.
