Nigerien referees to handle Ghana-Zambia U-17 clash

Accra, Sept. 8, GNA - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed match officials from Niger for this weekend's African U-17 qualifier between Ghana's Black Starlets and their Zambian counterparts.

The Starlets will face off against the Junior Chipolopolos in the second leg of the first round qualifier on Saturday, September 11, at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

Information gathered by GNA Sports from the CAF headquarters in Cairo indicates that Attama Boureima will direct affairs from the middle of the crucial encounter.

Boureima, 39, will be assisted on the lines by compatriots Mamane Abdoulaye and Ousmana Fousseini with Ghanaian referee Thomas Nunoo serving as the fourth official.

Former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association, Alhadj Sani Toro will be the Match Commissioner.

The Starlets were 1-2 losers from the first leg held a fortnight ago in Lusaka, and will need only at least a lone goal victory to advance to the final round.

The winner will face either Guinea or Senegal in the last hurdle of the qualifying series.

Rwanda will host the final tournament from January 7 to January 22, 2011.
