Nii Armah wins International Powerlifting Championship

The 5th edition of the International Powerlifting Championship, 'Super Adja Totoa' (macho man) was held over the weekend in Togo's capital city Lome.

The event which was staged in their National Theatre saw Ghana's Ebenezer Nii Armah defending the title he won last year by lifting 380kgs ahead of the Togo champion Follybe who ended his time at 350kgs.

For the heavy weight division Nii Armah from Ghana who came up top was given a gold medal and a certificate plus an amount of 1000,000 CFA.

Follybe from Togo also received 500,000 CFA, a silver medal and a certificate for placing second while third placed Fabriss zanbi of cote d'Ivoire also received a bronze medal, 500,000 CFA and a certificate.

In the Lightmiddle weight division, Kougbenou from Togo snatched the Gold medal and was rewarded with 500.000 CFA and a certificate.

Second placed Gideon Frimpong from Ghana, got a silver medal, 400,000 CFA and a certificate.

Togolese Akoete Tovor who took the bronze medal, got 300,000 CFA and a certificate for his effort.

Body building (flex)

Silik Adja from Ghana won the Body Flex division and was rewarded with a gold medal, 500,000 CFA and a certificate while Michael Antwi, also from Ghana, took the silver medal and got 400,000 CFA and a certificate.

Amidou from Bukina Faso picked the third position and got a bronze medal, 300.000 CFA and a certificate.
