Nike is the dominating footwear brand in the Ghana camp as most of the Black Stars players wear the new sleek, colourful and trendy mercurial for Wednesday’s training session.
The team have converged in Kumasi to begin preparations towards their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda on Saturday.
The team started their training sessions on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
And even though German kit manufacturing company, Puma are the official sponsors of the Black Stars, most of the players have also entered into individual endorsement deals with other sports kits manufacturing firms.
Almost all of the Black Stars players have signed up onto endorsement deals with Nike. Players such as Kwadwo Asamoah, Rabiu Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Christian Atsu, and Abdul Baba Rahman were all spotting the new Nike mercurial boots for Wednesday’s training session.
Fatau Dauda, David Accam, Solomon Asante, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Razak Brimah and Jonathan Mensah were all in Nike with some even having their names customized on their boots.
Only a few players were in other brands.
Jeffrey Schlupp was in Adidas while captain Asamoah Gyan as always, was in his colourful pink and blue Puma with Afriyie Acquah also in Puma.
The team continues with its preparations with an evening training session on Wednesday.
