Controversial former Ghanaian forward, Baba Adamu Armando has stated that, Ghana’s Senior National team, the Black Stars wouldn’t be what it is without the current skipper Asamoah Gyan.

According to him, Gyan has been an influential figure since joining the team in 2006 and does not get the recognition he deserves.

Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, Armando, who played with Gyan in the Black Stars in the year 2006 said the current successes chalked by the Black Stars of Ghana is all down to the influence of inspirational captain.

“Asamoah Gyan is a good player and a good captain. In actual fact, there is no Black Stars without him”, Armando said.

Asamoah Gyan has played 96 games for the Black Stars since making his debut in 2005 scoring 48 goals in the process.

The Shanghai SIPG striker is Ghana’s all time leading scoerer.
