Ghana legendary player Abdul Razak says he does not regret the fact that he never got the chance to play at the FIFA World Cup.
“Golden boy ” won the 1978 African Cup of Nations with Ghana but the World Cup was eluded Ghana during Razak’s era but the former Asante Kotoko great has told Cafonline.com that the biggest motivation for them was the African Cup.
“Not at all! During my days, the ultimate was the Africa Cup of Nations not the World Cup and that is why we won many AFCON titles. We did not do well in the World Cup qualifiers. It was recently that a lot was done and Ghana has qualified for the last three World Cups. However, we have missed the AFCON title since 1982. I have no regret of not playing at the World Cup. This is how far God decided to bring me, and I cannot ask for more. I’m happy with what I achieved in my life.
CAF selected by Razak as one of the Ambassadors for the TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations Gabon 2017, and together with Senegal legend Khalilou Fadiga and former Gabonese player Francois Amegasse.
