No bad Blood At Hearts – Frank Nelson

Hearts of Oak board member Frank Nelson Nwokolo has rubbished claims that there is bad blood between the incumbent board and the old directors of the club.

The 2000 CAF Champions League winners has been in turmoil since Togbe Afede XIV took over the head administration after the flotation of shares in 2011.

Former directors who headed the club to achieve success in the late 1990s and early 2000s claim the decline of the club from grace to disgrace is down to ‘autocratic’ leadership style of Togbe Afede XIV.

Aziz Haruna Futah, a renown fan and former board member led a hymn in the last three years for fans together and take over ownership of the Rainbow club from the majority shareholder.

Harry Zakkour, Fawaz Zowk and many others have echoed the calls of Aziz Futah to reclaim the club after the resignation of Gerald Ankrah last week , but Frank Nelson insist there are no problems between the current board and the board of old.

“There are no issues in Hearts of Oak. If you ask Nii Ayi Bonte, he can’t say he’s an old or new member of Hearts of Oak, the only thing he can tell you is that he’s a supporter and he works for the club 24 hours,” Frank Nelson told Happy FM.

“I can tell you all the things perceive of Hearts of Oak, some of them are not true. Some of the things are normal because it happens even in our families… there can be disagreements at times, but at the end of the day we are all fighting for the well-being of the club.

“For instance, last season when results were not good, Nii Ayi Bonte, Alhaji Hearts, Harry Zakkour and co. all drove to Obuasi just to give the team morale support, what shows there’s bad blood between us?” He quizzed.

“From where I sit, I don’t think there is any issue at Hearts of Oak to be solved.” He stated.
