No timeline for my injury – Dede Ayew

West Ham and Black Stars striker, Andre Dede Ayew says there is no timeline for his injury but hopes to be back on the field as soon as possible to help his club and country.

He said his doctors have declared that they will take their time to treat his injury so he cannot tell how long that will take.

The deputy captain of the Black Stars said this during an interview with GTV Sports after Ghana’s AFCON qualifier match against Rwanda, which ended 1-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday.

“Well, they say they cannot give timelines because it could be soon or it can take some time so they will just do what they can,” Dede said.

West Ham’s record £20.5 million signing suffered a hamstring on his debut for the club against Chelsea some weeks ago, which West Ham lost 2-1.

He enjoyed only 35 minutes of the game, and after pulling a muscle, Coach Slaven Bilic had to substitute the Hammers’ record signing.

However, Bilic has also suggested that Dede’s absence may not be as bad as first feared as he argued that the Hammers didn’t necessarily need to strengthen his position.

"Andre Ayew is due back at the end of November,” the Croatian coach said, adding, “So there is no point in adding too many players in that position.”
