Nominations for Presidential elections opened

Accra, Dec 5, GNA - Nominations for the election of a new President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has opened on Monday, December 5 with the elections scheduled for December 30 this year. The decision follows the approval of the GFA's new Statutes after its Extraordinary Congress on December 1.

The elected President will head the Executive Committee, which has been formed out of the Congress and the Executive Council following the restructuring exercise conducted at the insistence of the world soccer governing body, FIFA.

Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the GFA said in a Press Release issued through the GNA Sports that prior to the elections, there would be Regional Football Association elections on December 21 to be followed by the clubs while the elections of other constituent bodies would be conducted on December 23.

All Presidential aspirants have therefore been advised to collect their forms from the General Secretary while aspirants for Regional Chairmen positions are to collect their forms from the RFA General secretaries.
