Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC, has refuted allegations that Maxwell Konadu left the FA Cup champions without notifying the club's management.

Konadu has recently embarked on a new journey in South Africa, having signed a three-year contract to coach Black Leopards in their second division.

Meanwhile, Nsoatreman FC has appointed Yaw Preko as Konadu's successor, the coach who guided them to their first significant triumph in Ghanaian football.

Preko has joined the FA Cup victors on a two-year contract and was officially introduced on Monday, July 9, 2024.

During Preko's unveiling, Baffour Awuah addressed the rumors about Konadu's exit, stating, "I want to make it unequivocally clear that Maxwell Konadu did not leave without our knowledge. He personally shared his future plans with me, and I gave him my full support."

"We all strive for progress, so I consented to his decision. I urge no one to hold any resentment towards him. Nsoatreman and Maxwell Konadu maintain a harmonious relationship. In fact, I tasked him with finding a suitable replacement. The fact that we have a new coach today is a testament to Konadu's involvement," he affirmed.

Yaw Preko is set to lead Nsoatreman FC in their inaugural 2024/25 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, aiming to make a significant impact.

Nsoatreman FC earned their first-ever ticket to the African stage by winning the FA Cup last season.
