Nsoatreman FC has set a clear objective for Yaw Preko, their newly appointed coach, to guide the team to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The ex-Ghanaian international took over the reins as the head coach of the FA Cup champions on Monday, succeeding Maxwell Konadu who left for a coaching role with Black Leopards in South Africa.

At an elaborate ceremony in Nsuatre, Preko was formally introduced to the players and the club's management, marking the commencement of his tenure.

Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the club owner and Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, during Preko's introduction, emphasized the importance of reaching the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup as a primary goal.

He remarked, "In line with our agreement with Maxwell Konadu, we didn't expect much in his first season but anticipated a league win in his second. Similarly, we don't have high expectations from Yaw Preko in his initial season."

"Yet, for our African campaign, we at least anticipate making it to the group stage. We'll reassess our stance as the league season progresses."

Nsoatreman FC is set to discover their preliminary stage adversaries in the competition come Thursday, July 11, 2024.
